Gaining Strength
A series of 3 executive workshops based on the book, From Stress
to Serenity, by Angus Jenkinson
The workshops are based on the proven principles that:
- The experience of stress arises from a gap between the ability
of the individual to cope (across a range of competencies, including
courage, compassion, flexibility and creativity, complex decision-making
and more) and the actual challenges met. This experience should
evoke a decision to change, possibly by reducing stress, but also
by increasing capability. And there are extremely effective ways
to do this.
- What happens to us does not automatically have to turn into
any reaction, including pain and stress; normally we have choice
about how to respond. There are strategies and practices to achieve
this.
- Leaders are those who have mastered such lessons; and great
leaders have mastered them more.
- 'Stress' can thus be seen as a path of self-development, and
one that when followed benefits others, organisations and society.
The 3 workshops cover:
- Self-awareness and strategies for self-development
- Inter-personal and work related stress management
- Leadership practices: reducing stress and increasing capability
in the organisation
